Within the scope of the Career Planning course conducted by our department, we hosted Ms. Yeliz Gül, one of the distinguished figures of the tourism sector, this week.

Gül completed her undergraduate studies in Labor Economics at Uludağ University and her master’s degree in the Department of Tourism Management and Hospitality at Akdeniz University. After serving as a research assistant at Akdeniz University Faculty of Tourism, she continued her professional career in the family business, Rose Hotels. During the same period, she actively contributed to civil society by serving as the President of the Kemer Lions Club. Gül served as the Deputy Speaker of the Assembly at the Antalya Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ATSO) for four years, becoming the first woman to assume an assembly leadership role in ATSO’s 120-year history. She was later elected as a Board Member of the Mediterranean Touristic Hoteliers and Operators Association (AKTOB), subsequently being appointed as its Secretary General. In 2013, she was appointed as the Vice President of the Antalya Promotion Foundation (ATAV), and in 2018, she became the President of ATAV. During this period, she founded the world’s 12th and Antalya’s first virtual women’s museum. Concurrently, during her tenure as Vice President of the Antalya Convention Bureau (ACB), she was awarded the ACE of M.I.C.E. Awards Achievement Award in 2019—considered the Oscar of the M.I.C.E. sector—due to her contributions to ACE of M.I.C.E., Turkey’s only congress, meeting, and event fair, as well as her efforts toward advancing congress tourism in Antalya. Currently serving as the Honorary Consul of the Czech Republic in Antalya, Gül continues to actively contribute to various organizations, including the Antalya High Advisory Council, TOBB Women Entrepreneurs Council, TYD (Tourism Investors Association), Antalya Gastronomy Association, Antalya City Council Culture and Arts Commission, Kemer Sailing Club, and the Akdeniz University Tourism Alumni Association.

As part of the Career Planning course conducted in our department, we had the pleasure of hosting Aslı Gökçe Kolancı this week.

With 18 years of professional experience in the corporate training and consultancy field, Ms. Kolancı has been providing training programs—particularly on leadership and motivation—to many of Turkey’s leading companies. She also delivers seminars at universities and serves as an invited speaker at numerous prestigious summits. In addition, she is a TEDx speaker. The author of the book “Aska Düet”, Ms. Kolancı has also played an active role in the media and publishing industry. As a founding member of the Ankara Incek Rotary Club, she stands out for her social responsibility efforts and her support for youth projects. Our guest graduated from Hacettepe University State Conservatory, Department of Opera, and subsequently worked as a chorus artist and soloist at the Ankara State Opera and Ballet.

As the guest of the first seminar organized within the scope of the Career Planning course, we had the pleasure of hosting our distinguished alumnus, Mr. Çağrı Bekmezoğlu.

Mr. Bekmezoğlu graduated from the Department of Business Administration, Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences at Akdeniz University in 2009. During his undergraduate studies, he was granted the “Rector’s Special Award”in recognition of his outstanding representation both nationally and internationally. Following his graduation, he completed his Master’s degree with thesis in Organizational Behavior at the Faculty of Business Administration, Istanbul University.For the past 13 years, Mr. Bekmezoğlu has been working within the Koc Group, where he served as Turkey Sales Manager on the senior management team of Arcelik. He currently continues his professional career as a management consultant and professional coach.
